Holy Monastery of the Archangels Taxiarches of Naoussa

About Holy Monastery of the Archangels Taxiarches of Naoussa in Veria

The Holy Monastery of the Supreme Commanders of the Heavenly Hosts (Taxiarches) of Naoussa is dedicated to the Archangels Michael and Gabriel. The Holy Metropolis of Veria, Naoussa and Kampania currently lists it among monasteries under reconstitution, with restoration and community work still under way.

Archangel dedications are common in Macedonian monasticism; the Naoussa Taxiarches house belongs to that living map of shrines around the hero-city and Mount Vermio. Feast days of the Archangels (notably 8 November) are the natural focus for pilgrimage when access allows.

Because the site is under restoration, public visiting hours may be limited or by appointment only. Check with the Metropolis or local clergy before travelling, and observe modest dress if you are admitted. Treat this page as a guide entry for a shrine in active renewal rather than a fully open tourist monastery.
