Holy Monastery of Panagia Panymnitos & Prophet Elias (Asomata)

Beside the Aliakmonas near Asomata lies the Holy Monastery of Panagia Panymnitos and the Prophet Elias. The Holy Metropolis of Veria, Naoussa and Kampania lists it among houses under reconstitution, so buildings and schedule may still be settling.

The double dedication joins the Most-Hymned Theotokos with the Prophet Elijah—two pillars of Orthodox devotion often linked with mountain and riverside shrines. The Asomata area, with its reservoir landscape and valley roads toward the Skete monasteries, forms a natural spiritual corridor south of Veria.

Access and visiting practice should be confirmed in advance. Modest dress is required if the church is open. Combine carefully with Kallipetra and the Skete of the Forerunner only when roads and hours allow; do not assume daily tourist opening while reconstitution continues.
