Vom Flughafen Thessaloniki nach Veria

Veria is about 75 kilometres west of Thessaloniki Airport (SKG), in Imathia. There is no airport bus that ends in Veria. The practical public routes start in the city.

KTEL bus

Intercity KTEL buses for Veria leave from the Macedonia intercity bus station in Thessaloniki, not from the airport terminal. From SKG, take the city bus or a taxi to that station, then the Veria coach. Buy the coach ticket at the station. We do not publish a timetable here, because KTEL changes it.

Train

Hellenic Train runs Thessaloniki–Florina and Thessaloniki–Edessa services that stop at Veria. The station is on the edge of town, a short taxi ride from the old town. Check the day’s train before you leave the airport. There is no direct train from SKG.

Car and parking for Vergina

A hire car is the straightforward way if the plan includes Vergina. The Royal Tombs have their own car park at the site. Do not plan to park in Veria’s old town and walk to Aigai. For a walking day in town, leave the car outside the old streets and use the map.
